cookbook reviews

I have an extensive collection of cookbooks going back 30+ years as well as some vintage ones that belonged to my mom and grandmother.  To get an idea of the size of my collection I have a pine bookcase with six 24 inch shelves that is overflowing.  I love cookbooks of all kinds, I have hardcover cookbooks, paperback cookbooks, church cookbooks, cook booklets--and magazines.  The magazines are stored in a different bookcase.  I have cookbooks published by famous chefs, celebrity chefs, appliance companies, local cooks, even one published by a romance writer with recipes from characters of a fictional town.

My plan is to choose a cookbook each month to review and then once each month for the next year to try a recipe from the cookbook and share the recipe on the blog.  Hopefully by the end of 2014 I will have shared reviews of 12 cookbooks and 12 recipes from the January selection, 11 recipes from the February selection, 10 recipes from the March selection...you get the picture.  By December there should be 12 new recipes each month
